Why?

Why?

I can’t stop myself; I have to protest. Despite my resolve to remain silent on the political front, I am battered from all sides, by the systematic rape of the American people by a pro. The man who is impounding land from Texans to build his immoral and despicable wall, has his face so deeply entrenched in the trough of glut and greed, it defies explanation.
Our President on the golf course
A billionaire, he is stealing from the elders of our country, and is now enjoying his sixth vacation in Florida since taking office. After cutting Meals on Wheels and the school lunch program this week, he skulked back down to his palace in Florida, leaving the nation reeling.

I have never felt such seething rage at the actions of a President and his cohorts in Congress. Repulsively blind to the responsibilities of their position, these wealthy, mealy-mouthed bastions of business, have systematically allowed corporate interests and greed to pervade our society and culture, at the cost of our children and elders and any semblance of family values.

The biggest corporations pay no taxes. The billionaires that control our government pay no taxes. The CEO’s who make millions per year, pay no taxes. The laws are set up to benefit the wealthy because they were written by those who were bought and paid for, leaders who are controlled by corporations.

These corporate interests ensure that the minimum wage does not go up, which ensures that both parents have to work, which ensures that there is minimal chance of ever escaping the web of poverty and misery. The social service programs being axed right and left, benefit people who are poor.

This ever-widening spiral of indifference to the 43-plus million people, at or below the poverty level, is not only disheartening, it’s unfathomable. Why? My question is why? There is so much wealth being shipped to overseas accounts, it defies logic.

Why can’t those who are wealthy, share some of the pie? Why do they have to have it all, leaving so many helpless and fragile people, hanging out to dry and die?

Because they don’t give a fuck.

So those of us that do, are burdened with the knowledge that we are simply doomed to sit back and watch it happen. And suffer so that a man like the President can take his fat body down to where it is warm, and play golf.

He makes me want to vomit every time I see his image.

  1. Agreed. My rage just keeps getting stronger and stronger. I think it can't get much worse and then it does. It feels like an explosion waiting to happen.

    1. Sad but unquestionably true. What will it take to make these "leaders" see how wretched their existence is, when it comes to the reality of what they are supposed to be doing? And starving elders isn't the answer I am seeking. xoxo
