I always feel like I'm not making the most of it, though. My only real explanation is that I tend to be a bit of a wallflower even on the internet. The blog world has a slight advantage because of my anonymous persona, I guess.

Have only ever opened the Twitter page once and it holds not much interest--I'm far too longwinded for that format. ;)Masked Momhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/08197019009052401812noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-5664760701202151470.post-44991776644711425522012-02-22T18:06:03.546-08:002012-02-22T18:06:03.546-08:00On fb today, in response to Sabrina's apology,...On fb today, in response to Sabrina's apology, I said that I was no longer programmed to see errors in English usage, only people reaching out. It applies to you too, Miss Tired Eyes. Go take a little siesta. :)Mark O'Neillhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/16295762252612104201noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-5664760701202151470.post-77828710380643219042012-02-22T18:03:21.190-08:002012-02-22T18:03:21.190-08:00At least four typos in my post above. Sorry for typos.Graciewildehttps://www.blogger.com/profile/00142582724233027386noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-5664760701202151470.post-58026565883390856322012-02-22T18:00:40.760-08:002012-02-22T18:00:40.760-08:00What Lynda said is what I have been saying to you ...What Lynda said is what I have been saying to you - it has changed. It used to be far more personal and now a hefty chunk of my FB feed is more media/commercial related. True, I signed up for NPR links, for example but I also notice that there seems to be fewer personal notes being sent. I don't do the twitter thing - I have not taken the time to figure how why I would want that.
I can tell that you are having fun with FB b/c it is allowing you to connect with former students and that is cool. I know kids at school ask to "be my friend" on FB but I have a general rule: no friends under the age of 18. No real reason for that as I never pos anything that might be offensive or disrespectful. I guess I just want to put some distance between current or recent students and me. I do have a collection of kids who are in their late teens/early 20's who have connected with me. That's another rule of mine: never ask to be friends with former students but if they ask me (and they are over 18) by answer is a hearty yes!Graciewildehttps://www.blogger.com/profile/00142582724233027386noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-5664760701202151470.post-32059285998456496252012-02-22T07:59:25.464-08:002012-02-22T07:59:25.464-08:00Facebook is where I go to find out what my kids ar...Facebook is where I go to find out what my kids are up to. I am also on twitter for the same reason.
FB has changed a lot since I first started using it.
I find that more and more people/businesses are using it as a venue to get exposure for their "brand". It is no longer strictly the social networking site that it was originally designed to be.
I can see the advantages of networking for self promotion or for business purposes but it has started to feel like one big advertisement to me.
But I think you will have fun with it though.lyndagracehttps://www.blogger.com/profile/13530605081989558341noreply@blogger.com
