The Jump-Start-Off to Eire

We are off to Ireland-I will post as Irish internet allows...

Ha, Irene, you could delay us, but you could not stop us...

Good-bye Aaron Rowand, and Miguel Tejada.  It's not your fault that you could not fit into part-time roles for us.  Good luck in your travels, and we appreciate the effort.

Great 4-0 start last night.

Let's see if by leaving the arena, I can jump-start the Giants, the same way Aaron and Miggy will-by being absent.  I will remind you that I began this blog on July 30, the day after the Giants began that fatal three game series in Cincy, which the Reds swept.  In the opening game Edgar beat us in the twelfth, and it's been all downhill from there.

I want to see if, when the most optimistic Giants fan in the world (me), departs for a couple of weeks, maybe that's what we need.  We shall see.  The D-Backs are hot, and we have to take five of six from them to get anything out of the exchange.  It's a drag, but it's kind of exciting.  If we pull it off, it will be one hell of a ride.  And if we don't, nothing can take last year away from us, and nothing can prevent us from reasserting ourselves next season.

Welcome back, Pat the Bat-we missed you.  And to Brett Pill, I say come on board, and get us all fired up. We need the vitality and energy of the kids.  That is what makes all teams eventually competitive-there are too many starving kids, wanting to start.

Next year's potential lineup?

I don't know, but it may well include the following:

Buster, Brandon Belt, Jeff K, Freddy, Panda, Pill, Nate and Ross/Torres/Burrel.  I'm glad I do not have to make the decisions.  Good luck this weekend.
